Sivota of Lefkada is traditional settlement. It is a small quiet village in the southern part of the island and one of the most picturesque ports in the Ionian Sea, in a natural cove that provides mooring to yachts.
It is known to sailors, as they prefer it as an ideal and safe destination for sea tours and also for its unique natural beauty.

In the southeastern tip of Lefkada are Sivota. This is a natural bay that allows yachts mooring.
Known to sailors for the safe anchorage provided in bad weather but also for its unparalleled natural beauty.

It’s one of the most picturesque harbor in the Ionian.Surrounded by green hills with olive groves and the sea to penetrate between them reminiscent of Scandinavian fjords, the village of Sivota rightly characterised as a traditional settlement.Sivota during the day resemble a quiet little village .When the nightfall comes it raises the rythm ,as many sailboats and other vessels arriving in port.
Famous for its seaside fishtaverns of the great variety of seafood ready to satisfy the most delicate palates!!

Lefkada along with Evia are the only islands in Greece that you can visit by car.
A floating bridge connects Lefkada with the mainland (Acarnania).
The reduction of the distance and therefore the travel time, has decreased significantly because of three major projects in the region.
The underwater tunnel of Preveza-Aktion in conjunction with the Egnatia highway, make access easier and safer in the Ionian Sea from NW Greece.
The Rio-Antirio bridge greatly facilitate access to the island from mainland Greece.
Buses operate daily from / to Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Igoumenitsa, Preveza (www.ktel-lefkadas.gr)
-From Athens (378 km – 5 hours) 5 times a day on the route Athens – Lefkada.
-From Thessaloniki (420 km – over 7 hours) 2 times daily on the route Thessaloniki – Lefkada.
-From Patras (161 km – 2 hours and 50 minutes) 5 times a dayon the route Patra – Lefkada
By airplane
From April to October there are direct flights from / to Aktion from various destinations in Europe. At present there are no flights from Athens to Aktion.
However there is an air interface of the Ionian Islands.
The airline Sky Express, operates two services a week Heraklion – Kalamata – Zakynthos – Kefalonia – Aktion and Corfu and Aktion – Sitia. (http://www.skyexpress.gr/)

After your arrival in the city of Lefkas follow the Lefkada-Vasiliki road.
In the 31km on your left handside you’ll find a by-pass road that drives you to Sivota.

Due to its geographical location, Sivota offers a chance to sealovers for small escapes.
With your own boat or one you can rent at the port, you will be able to visit the following islands and beaches:

On the SE side lies Meganisi (4 knots) with special geological interest,rocks of uniquely beautiful formations and great beaches.
Three picturesce villages,Katomeri, Vathi, Spartochori come to complete the “puzzle”.
There is also here the “cave of Papanikoli” (greek submarine papanikolis found shelter during the B’ world war in this cave ) something not to be missed !!!!!!!!!

Kalamos island is next(11 knots)with an impressive mountain peak of 800 mtr.
There are two settlements Kalamos and the Diocese.

Further more you meet Kastos(12knots) ,a smaller island with the homonym village of Kastos.

On the South there is Arkoudi Island (3 knots). It is rumoured that a French company has bought it
with the prospective to converting it into a luxury resort.

Eastward we find Atokos(9.5 knots) owned by Tsakos family.

SW is Ithaki.You need to travel 12 knots for Frikes village and 14 knots for Vathi.

Wonderful small beaches you will meet all around Sivota bay.

Heading east there is Mikros Gialos beach and west Ormos Afteli.

The wider area is ideal for scuba diving and spearfishing.
The sailing, angling and snorkeling altogether are the most common activities visitors are interesting of.

The rich vegetation of the area and the unique view are the perfect “companinship” for the hiking fanatics .
There are two off- road trails around the port, ideal for walking and mountain bike.
